Dolly Rose was founded in January 2010, following the discovery of Powell Craft products. A love affair immediately began with the exquisite handmade cotton nightwear, clothing and accessories for babies, children and adults.

Dolly Rose was launched by husband and wife team, Kate and Andy Christie, who both understood the need for good online retail stores to supply products to places that didn't necessarily have bricks and mortar stores supplying this kind of retro and vintage-inspired quality cotton clothing and products that are very much in demand by discerning customers.

We quickly developed a strong relationship with Powell Craft, as we believed passionately in its products and ethos. We loved the fact that all the clothing and nightwear were handmade using 100 per cent cotton, with no added synthetic fibres, and that a percentage of any money we spent with them went to worthwhile charities at home and abroad.

In its first year Dolly Rose grew quickly, and we began sending Powell Craft products all over the UK and Europe, as well as to the USA, Australia and New Zealand. The worldwide love for the very English-style of products we were selling became apparent and with such amazing feedback and support from our customers we decided it was time to expand our product range.

At the same time we decided it was time to take on new brands to compliment the Powell Craft collections, so we began the search for ones that we felt were suitable, with quality products of a similar high standard of design, and also an awareness of the environment.

Hatley fitted the bill perfectly, and after some effort and negotiation it agreed to let Dolly Rose stock its beautifully designed products. We now stock Hatley children's raincoats and rubber rain boots, Hatley cotton polo pyjamas for boys and girls, and Hatley baby sleepsuits, in several funky designs.

Hatley seemed to be the perfect brand to take on as it tries to ensure that all of its products are made from natural fibres, in an environmentally sensitive way, and at a facility that shares its values. It's kids raincoats are all PVC-free so they are kind to kids as well as the environment and the people involved in their manufacture.

Next we decided it was time to take a step further and stock some organic cotton clothing for kids and babies, and this was when we discovered the wonderful UK brand called Kite Kids and Kite Baby. All Kite Kids and Kite Baby clothing is made from certified organic cotton, bamboo or recycled polyester.

Kite Kids offer a cool and contemporary range of clothing for children aged 2-11 years, and Kite Baby provides babygrows, rompers, sleepsuits and clothing for babies aged 0-24 months. Both bring something different again to the Dolly Rose family, and all of their clothes are not only super-comfy, but they are produced without using any harmful chemicals - a big plus for the planet and the people involved in its production, and we absolutely adore them!

So now Dolly Rose is the proud stockist of three wonderful brands, all with different strengths, qualities and designs, but as we continue to expand we're always on the look out for any others that we feel will fit in with the style and quality of what we like to sell.

Here at Dolly Rose we also believe strongly in customer service and try to provide swift delivery and good communication with all of our customers. As a small team we enjoy quite a personal relationship with many customers, and regularly receive lovely feedback thanking us for our time, effort and beautiful products.
